If you can imagine a community where artists and creative types go to escape the confomity of modern society, you'll have a good idea of what Niwot is all about. From the unique Niwot tree carving to the giant mural of the town of Niwot on the Excel Electric building, signs of this artistic flare are everywhere. It truly is a unique, friendly and open community.

While not technically an incorporated town, it still has its own distinct downtown area. There's even a historical section, with 100-year-old buildings preserved much as they were a century ago. Downtown is blessed with great local shops and eateries.

The state of Colorado has a reputation for making great beer, with craft breweries littered across the state. Niwot has its own as well. Powder Keg Brewing has some great local beer and it's the perfect place to spend a Saturday relaxing with a nice cold pint.
